Autorenporträt
Dan Chapman retired from education several years ago to begin his new hobby/career of traveling and writing. The idea was to visit unique places in the world, stay awhile and write poetry and stories about it. One destination, however, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, turned into a pleasing annual layover and Dan's inspirational place to write about whatever came to his mind. After a second volume of poetry and two novels were produced, the whole, new-writing affair fell comfortably into his new lifestyle. In between Dan's teaching career and developing/-owning/operating three social- service programs, our author took a nine-year hiatus to explore field-construction welding while attempting to duplicate what his parents had done as he tried experiencing life, himself, as a "boomer" welder. This book, War Torn: Mending of a Family, is partly a tribute to that lifestyle. Our author, reflects, "I come from an extraordinary family who lived through extraordinary times."
