This book has presented the findings of the research study on the current state of students with disabilities in Ethiopian higher education institutions. As it has been stated in the study, until 1990 s most universities in the world were virtually inaccessible to students with disabilities and staff (Gilmore, Bose & Hart, 2001). Though much has changed over recent years with regard to disability and higher education world wide, the situation of students with disabilities in Ethiopian institutions seems to be still very dire. From the findings presented in chapter four of this study, it is possible to determine that students with disabilities in Ethiopian institutions are facing continuous hindrances in their effort to access, persist in and complete their higher education. Despite the obstacles in accessing and persisting in Ethiopian institutions, there are still students with disabilities attending various programs. Accordingly, the present study has tried to examine the current policy and provision for those students with disabilities in the institutions to show clear picture of the situation.
