The decision of "Political Doctrines at the Foundations of Western Civilization" did not come by chance. It comes as a desire to fulfill a gap identified in this field of research in the Albanian academic world. The introduction brings a synthesized treatment of the theoretical foundation upon which the work will be realized and will feed the analysis, conveying the most basic knowledge of political doctrines in the primacy of the modern European era, knowledge necessary to understand comprehensively in the subject matter. Initially, the study claimed a wider scope at the time, attempting to comprehensively incorporate political doctrines. But reflection on the criticism of the opponents regarding the historical extent of the topic's treatment brought about narrowing of the field of study and, consequently, the formulation of conclusions in a more limited historical context. For this purpose, the time horizon of the study focused on the period of modern European timelessness thatincludes political thought from Machiavelli to Hegel. This narrowing resulted in a rational setting of the study's goal.
