In fulfilling the requirements for the award of a master of science degree in International Development Studies, this thesis was written to reveal how migrants in their activities can contribute to the spread of HIV. The book is divided into two parts. The first part is a literature study of how migration can influence the spread of HIV and how migrants have influenced the spread of the disease in certain parts of Africa. The second part of the book contains details of a field work I conducted in Ghana to determine whether seasonal migration has influenced the spread of HIV in the country or not. Even though I am aspiring for greater heights academically I am very critical of events around me and I offer constructive views and opinions on crucial national issues. I am particularly interested in development issues such as conflicts, the environment, MDGS, Education, pro-poor initiatives especially by governments and non-governmental organizations and the nature of donor support tothe developing world.
