GEORGE THOMAS KURIAN is president of George T. Kurian Reference Books, Baldwin Place, N.Y. He has edited more than two dozen works including the ALA award winning Encyclopedia of the Third World and World Education Encyclopedia. His other works on American politics include the two-volume Encyclopedia of the Democratic Party and the two-volume Encyclopedia of the Republican Party and Guide to American Government. JEFFREY D. SCHULTZ is president of Jeffrey D. Schultz & Co., Inc. He has taught political science and history at a number of colleges, including White Pines College and The Colorado College. He was the associate editor for the two-volume Encyclopedia of the Democratic Party and the two-volume Encyclopedia of the Republican Party. He is currently editing a book on presidential scandals.
