This study aimed to examine the citizens' perception in the implementation of political professionalization system in Sri Lanka and current situation of political practice system. Further, this study is anticipated to determine the barriers which associated with political professionalization. Finally, it summarizes the findings and deficiency for implementation of professionalized political practice system, puts forward the recommendations and suggests criteria to advice for the professionalization of political practice for Sri Lankan context, which would provide scientific evidence for the importance of political professionalization in Sri Lanka.
