This book is an invitation to educators in general, researchers, youth scholars and parents of teenagers to understand students' perceptions of school and study. After all, what school do students want? What are their needs and preferences? We invite you, the reader, to dive between the lines of this book and discover what young people think about education, especially Polytechnic High School. This book is the result of in-depth, wide-ranging research carried out in 30 schools, one in each Regional Education Coordination (CRE) headquarters city in Rio Grande do Sul, totaling 658 respondents who graduated from high school in 2014. The results of the survey show that the students are aware of the importance of studying for their education, but demand a different school to the one they find. They want a school with quality education, committed teachers, relevant content and meaningful learning. All in all, there is a gap between the proposal to restructure the curriculum and its implementation in school reality, in other words, a gap between theory and practice.
