Autorenporträt
Carla Crane Osborne grew up under the barnyard light on her family's farm in rural southern Idaho, where she spent countless hours helping tend cattle and sheep, riding horses, and having grand adventures exploring the landscape. Every day she was excited to learn and work on the farm, which has been in her family for four generations. Carla wrote Pony Express to bring to life a snapshot of the past so that children today can experience a sliver of the magic she knew growing up on a farm with all of its wonders. Since she left the farm for college, Carla has had many more adventures, including working for a traveling theater group as a dancer, singer, and actress. Carla has traveled all over the world, but she still calls Idaho home. She and her husband live on fifteen acres she calls her "little farm," where she spends much of her time outside, pasturing her horses, donkey, and sheep. She still visits the family farm and loves to tell stories of her childhood there to her four children and six grandchildren. Carla is also the author of Under the Barnyard Light, which has won a silver IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award.
