Jo Ann Beresford Perkins graduated from Red Bluff High School and attended the University of California at Berkeley, graduating with a degree in Social Welfare. She worked as a Stewardess in Denver, Colorado, for United Air Lines before her marriage to George Perkins. They returned to Mineral, operating Lassen Park Ski Area and the Mineral Lodge with her family until 1980. Moving to Red Bluff as a Real Estate Broker, she owned Mountain Valley Real Estate, the Victorian Restaurant, and worked as a tour director for Lassen Transit. She still owns a cabin in Mineral and lives in Northern California.
