Population growth and food security are the most heated and debated topics in the contemporary world and the knowledge of existing population and the condition of food security are of vital importance to a country, especially in connection with planned schemes for future socio-economic development. Thus, the present book analyses the decadal trend and spatial pattern of population growth during whole of 20th century and the first decade of 21st century with respect to total, rural and urban population. The condition of agriculture and food has been analyzed by taking fifteen major crops that has been produced in the region locally. The book further explores the relationship between population growth and population pressure with food security condition of the region.
Autorenporträt
Dr. Adnan Shakeel has completed his M.A. (Geography) and Ph.D from Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He is currently working as a post doctoral fellow in the same department. His research area is food security. He has published over a dozen of research papers in national and international journals.
