This project aims to analyse the portrait (image) of the teacher in a Mozambican social context. It is a study of social representations, anchored in Pierre Bourdieu's theory of practice in order to capture the social actions and dispositions that take place in the school environment, articulated by Anthony Giddens' theoretical structuring matrix in order to situate the practices and highlight the relevance of the meetings in building the image of the teacher. Using a methodological conjugation, the research allows us to verify that the image of the teacher is a social construction, relational and therefore, contextual, marked by the nature of relationships in the classroom and the social conditions of existence in the Mozambican social universe.
