The monograph is devoted to the study of the complex speech genre "Portrait of Man" through the speech genre "Explanation in Love" on the material of the fiction text of M. Bulgakov "Master and Margarita", as well as the study of the structure of the speech genre "Portrait of Man" through the speech genre "Explanation in Love" from the perspective of the theory of speech acts and theory of speech acts in the context of artistic speech. The basic unit for describing speech acts is considered to be communicative intention. Speech act theory has developed a tradition of describing speech intention as an implication. The speech act is an intensional meaning, and the speech act is a communicative meaning of the utterance. The speech act can express several communicative meanings, some of the latter do not find verbal expression. The proposed approach to the considered problem as well as the novelty of its statement itself allows us to expand the theoretical and methodological basis for the study of the complex speech genre "Portrait of a Man". The monograph is addressed to experts in the field of language theory and to readers, interested in the study of speech genres in the light of M.M. Bakhtin's theory of speech genres.
