Mikhail Martchenko§Mikhail Martchenko obtained his B.Sc. from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, where he graduated with distinction and honors in Biochemistry and Science College. During his doctoral study at Biology Department of McGill University, Montreal, Canada, he became interested in human pathogens and their interactions with the host. His thesis specialized in Candida albicans, a human fungal pathogen and one of the top-list killers of immunocompromised individuals. Mikhail Martchenko work has been supported by government-based scholarships, and was published in top peer-reviewed scientific journals. Currently Mikhail Martchenko is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Stanley N. Cohen laboratory at Stanford University, USA. His work is aimed at understanding how Bacillus anthracis, a human bacterial pathogen used in biological warfare, exploits host cell genes for its own propagation.
