Postpartum haemorrhage and postpartum blood loss need to be diferrentiated. induction of labour is done with vaginal tablets of prostaglandin e2. postpartum blood loss is the blood loss in first 24 hours after delivery.it is directly proportional to the number of tablets used for induction of labour.in this study i compared multiple versus single dose of prostaglandins E2.i observed in my study that multiple doses of prostaglandins can not only prolong the induction delivery interval but the postpartum blood loss as well. So it is suggested to carefully use the prostaglandin for induction of labour. careful use will improve the maternal postnatal outcome. it will reduce postnatal morbidity in terms of blood loss and need for blood transfusion lesser the the number of tablets for induction of labour lesser will be the postpartum blood loss.
