The present work comprises ecological studies on two wetland sedges namely C. articulatus and C. laevigatus in the Nile Delta coast. O Dr. Serag completou o seu doutoramento em Ecologia do Sistema do Canal das Universidades de Mansoura-Lund 1989. Actualmente a trabalhar como professor de Ecologia na Universidade de Damietta. Publicou mais de 85 artigos de investigação em revistas nacionais e internacionais. Está interessado na diversidade vegetal e na gestão dos recursos naturais.
