Some recommendations were made at the end of the study which includes the need for the state government, NGO's, CBO's, international donor agencies etc to make concerted efforts to improve the socio-economic status of women in the state.

Dr. Felix Ugochukwu Amadi holds a bachelor's and Master's degree in Sociology from the University of Lagos and Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology of Development from the Imo State University Owerri. He is a senior lecturer at Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education Owerri. He has published widely in many journals.
