The dawn of a new decade, the 1980's, saw big changes in the UK and the world. The computer age was dawning: Britain had its first female Prime Minister and in the United States an ex cinema screen actor was President. Civil unrest leading to strikes and power cuts was still plaguing Britain. A small independent computer software company owned by partners Trevor Melrose and John O'Neill had its own problems. Both had re-mortgaged their own homes to finance the business and their key customer was threatening to cancel its order if John O'Neill , the chief software designer, couldn't come up with a solution that was bugging their latest product. Oh, how Trevor wished his partner could come up soon with an answer as bankruptcy was now staring them right in the face. John O'Neill's wife, Jodie, was feeling depressed and bored in her marriage; their sex life was unsatisfying and humdrum, she wished her husband could find the spark to light up their dull, unexciting love life. Sam O'Neill, their twelve year old son was becoming a problem, with his school work deteriorating and his cheeky and disrespectable attitude. Jodie so wished his father would take him in hand and stop him from becoming a future teenage tearaway. However, wishes tend to come true and can have a down side, leading to very dark and terrifying outcomes.
