The Global Commons are the domains that are becoming contested and congested with the passage of time. The advent of interdependence of states and globalization as a phenomenon has marked the beginning of novel policies towards these Global Commons. These Commons have been understood in the context of open spaces accessible to all states of the world equally, but with the rise of non state actors and unequal growth of powerful states necessitated the need of more comprehensive global strategy to be articulated by global organizations in accessing and securing the Global Commons. While the global regimes and policy framework have been articulated in order to protect the access of smaller states in these commons, the issue of power disparity will always hamper the fair and just policies and strategies being applied to these domains. In that context the contemporary strategic and defense policy articulated by US for these Global Commons marked the beginning of new power politics at the global arena. Thus the task of creation and implication of a theoretical framework for this policy has been articulated.
