The Criminal Procedure Code of Northern Nigeria and the Criminal Procedure Act of Southern States of Nigeria grant some powers to the Nigerian Police Force, apart from that of the provision of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1979 and also of the Police Act. The work examines the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code and that of the Criminal Procedure Act as they relate to the powers of the Nigerian Police for comparison. It also attempt to contrast them, as this will enable Law Students and other readers understand the comparison and contrast of both Codes so that differences are made clear.
