Surveys carried out in four agroclimatic zones in western Algeria allowed the identification of Ascochytosis, Root and crown rot, Wilt-Jawn, Oidium (Erysiphe sp.), Downy mildew (Peronospora pisi), Bacterial fat (Pseudomonas syringae), Rust (Uromyces pisi) and Botrytis (Botrytis cinerea). In the field, the pea crop suffers from the attack of many enemies. Cryptogamic diseases are one of the main factors of the production decrease. Surveys carried out in four agroclimatic zones in western Algeria allowed the identification of Ascochytosis, Root and crown rot, Wilt-Jawn, Oidium (Erysiphe sp.), Downy mildew (Peronospora pisi), Bacterial fat (Pseudomonas syringae), Rust (Uromyces pisi) and Botrytis (Botrytis cinerea). Isolations from plants with yellowing and wilting symptoms, associated with crown and root rots, confirmed the presence of FO f.sp.pisi. The results of this study revealed the existence of morphological and pathogenic variability. The study of the organization of 21 isolates belonging to the 4 races of FOP revealed the existence of 4 GCVs, showing genetic diversity. The biological control trial against FOP and FSP by using indigenous non-pathogenic FO isolates showed antagonistic activity in vitro and in vivo by competition, reduction of the disease index and induction of resistance.
