Indeed, one element seems to be essential in the practice of French in the households, it is the representations of French, as well as the linguistic practices of the speakers. It would therefore be wise to look at the use of French in the family unit in order to determine the type or level of French spoken.Our research entitled: "The practice of French in households in Abidjan: what functions, what uses?" will therefore focus on the role of the French language in Ivorian households, and then on the uses made of it by the speakers.
