The modern paradigm of higher linguistic education imposes new requirements on the foreign language proficiency of linguistic students, oriented towards participation in real intercultural communication. Pragmalingvodidactics is a new direction in the methodology of teaching foreign languages and cultures and linguistics developed at Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University in the Department of Theory and Methodology of Teaching Intercultural Communication. The methodological technologies of pragmalingvodidactics created at the interface between pragmalinguistics, sociolinguistics and linguistics allow effective solution of problems of teaching foreign language communicative competence and rationally provide pragmatics of foreign language speech of students by means of linguistic material adequate to the modern image of English, giving the future specialists in linguistics the opportunity to participate in real intercultural communication in various registers of speech communication
