Autorenporträt
Laura Barnhart has worked in education and as a motivational speaker. She holds a Master's in health psychology and lectured on topics such as stress management and interpersonal communication. In 1979 she married Bill Barnhart and their only son, Brian, was born in 1984. She was raised in the Bay area of California, in a home without God or any Biblical teaching. As an adult she began searching for meaning. Her search led her to church, where she became a Christian. Shortly after, she began writing the prayers in this book in response to prayer requests on the Internet. She responded compassionately to the needs of people in all walks of life, with widely varying needs and situations. In 1989 Laura was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. In 2001, in response to the worsening of her MS, her husband divorced her. The next year Laura moved into a nursing home in Albuquerque, New Mexico to be closer to her parents and a new church community where she has gotten the care she needed. Laura passed away from her illness.
