Regardless of athlete's level and age, anxiety is one of the most frequent psychological factors in the sports universe, justified by the search for high performance that is expressed through collections, pressure for results and exhaustive training. This research aimed at identifying the level of pre-competitive anxiety and self-confidence in a collective sport modality. Eleven athletes from a collective sport modality of the male gender, aged between 12 and 14 years, took part as subjects. The instruments used were: semi-structured interview and the questionnaire CSAI-2 (Competitive State Anxiety Inventory - 2). The present study verified that the athletes presented a low level of somatic and cognitive anxiety and a high average level of self-confidence, confirming what is described in the literature when referring to collective sports.
