Language is one of the important aspect of Child Development and Pre-School plays a significant role towards the all round development of the child. The early years are considered to be the most impressionable and formative period in a child's life. The period of life that stretches from 3 to 6 years is a period of momentous significance. It has been held that the first few years of life are critical years for language. Children who fail to acquire satisfactory language skills are handicapped in modern social living. Children who fail to develop a minimum of language skills cannot become a full co-operative member of a democratic society. The rate of development at this stage is so rapid that the child is able to take in almost anything that is given to him/her in a form which he/she can understand. As such, great importance has been given to Pre-School education because it prepares a child for all round development.
