Childhood is the period which is most vulnerable to various diseases. Also Pre-school childhood is the period when the child cannot verbally express exactly the symptoms he/she has.Hence it becomes the duty of the care giver to notice even minor changes in the child's health and take appropriate steps for early detection and proper management. It is the Mother who plays this important role most of the time.Hence a survey was conducted to find out the Health seeking behaviour of Pre-School children's mothers in certain rural areas in India for common symptoms namely Fever, Cough, Diarrhoea and Fits. This book contains a detailed description of the survey. In contrast to other similar surveys, this survey also included the mothers whose children were not ill at that time so that the exact proportion of mothers who would give appropriate health care to the child can be determined. This survey will help the health care providers to know about the attitude and needs of the people and plantreatment modalities accordingly for the maximum benefit of the child.
