It was illustrated that the function crystals could be precipitated on the surface of glasses by various kinds of continuous wave lasers. Besides, the controlled orientation of some crystals in glass can be accomplished by heat-assisted continuous wave Nd:YAG laser irradiation. An assortment of photonic devices such as; waveguides, couplers , and gratings have been created inside the glasses with two dimensional or three-dimensional designs.
