The provision of exclusive motorcycle lanes has been implemented in Malaysia with aimed to reduce motorcycle crash along trunk roads. However, not much work has been done to address crashes at intersections involving motorcycles. This paper presents a prediction model for motorcycle crashes at intersections on urban roads. The models were developed using the Generalized Linear Modeling technique. Randomly selected intersections on urban roads in Malaysia were collected and used in developing the models. The models for all type of intersection, 3-legged priority intersections, non-signalized intersections and signalized intersections were developed. The final models reveal that traffic entering the intersection, approach speed, lane width, shoulder width, number of lanes, intersection control and land use at the approach of the intersection were found to be significant in describing motorcycle crashes. The models should allow traffic engineers to decide the appropriate intersection treatment with respect to motorcycle crashes. The design parameters for intersections may be changed to achieve the appropriate safety levels.
