The study proposes that availability of print material both at home and school significantly affects leisure reading among standard five pupils in Bungoma county Kenya. The study concludes that pupils interest influence leisure reading among standard five pupils to a great extent.Peer influence was a strategic predictor of leisure reading. More time in leisure reading should be invested and innovative approaches' developed to gain access to more leisure treading materials.More class libraries and Library lessons should be streamlined for pupils and parents and parents should buy more leisure reading materials that are appropriate for their children. Government policy for guiding implementation of leisure reading activities among public primary schools should be formulated and implemented through the ministry of education and other educational agencies and NGOs.
