There are life-changing dangers on our doorstep. Yet, we don't need to live in fear-we just need to be prepared and ready to roll. This consolidation of Book-2 and 3 in this preparedness series, provides the reader with both a guidebook and reference volume. As a result, it can help you navigate difficult times, plus it contains a wealth of reference information with step-by-step "how-to" instructions. The author is a popular speaker and talk-show guest, international security consultant, the founder of two firearm self-defense academies, and a former Los Angeles area police detective and SWAT team operator. He has personally faced violent criminals, civil unrest, wide-scale urban riots, civil war, and major disasters ranging from killer earthquakes to deadly volcanic eruptions. And, for several years, he lived with his wife and children in a country engulfed in a bloody guerrilla war. So, he writes from a real-world perspective. The author's knowledge and skills were learned the hard way--at ground zero. As a result, this double-volume book is intensely practical. Today, we need to be ready to roll. Whether it be fleeing from urban civil unrest or finding that we are engulfed in a natural disaster, or, facing a looming terrorist threat or the aftermath of a catastrophic storm, whatever the danger, we need to be prepared and ready to roll. Fortunately, there are common elements of preparation for both natural and man-made disasters. Whether your concern is a weather event such as Hurricane Harvey, wildfires, a downward sliding economy, a cyber attack, or a nuclear, chemical, biologic, or EMP incident; a major incident or minor, or something in between, this book can help you get ready for the uncertain days ahead. This is a powerful package. It contains "how-to" insights and easy-to-follow directions that are simple to understand, even by novices, and yet it is full of essential reference details that are needed by those who are experienced. And, since it is written in an engaging layman's style and uses practical examples, it holds the reader's interest. Importantly, the author explains how you can get ready for the dangers on your doorstep today-and for those coming tomorrow. And, how to live life fearlessly in calm readiness, so that you can roll into the future with confidence.

Autorenporträt
SIG SWANSTROM has wide-ranging experience with disasters, social unrest, civil war, violent crime, and emergency operations and preparedness. He has personally lived through, and responded to, many natural and man-made calamities. In addition to his law enforcement career in the Los Angeles area where he had a number of deadly force encounters, he also lived in Guatemala during that country's bloody civil war. While working in Central America, SIG survived several years of asymmetric warfare. This included lone-wolf rocket attacks, bombings, as well as two assaults on his installation by more than a hundred insurgents firing automatic rifles and mortars. On the 'natural disaster' side of his experience, SIG has repeatedly been on-scene with an assortment of calamities. This includes two deadly earthquakes, helping with the evacuation efforts during major storms, and he was onsite immediately after the nuclear bomb-like volcanic eruption of Mount St. Helens. Plus, he was first on-scene and provided aid after the crash of a commercial airliner in a densely populated urban area. As a result of these experiences, the practical aspect of his writing is unusually broad and relevant. SIG has dedicated his life to helping people prepare for adversity, so they are ready to roll into any type of emergency situation. Whether it be an encounter with a violent criminal, civil unrest, a local or regional disaster, or an event that is life changing for a nation, SIG's passion is to help people get ready for that moment when life suddenly changes. He believes in fearless living, and his engaging teaching style is filled with practical insights on how to live like a victor rather than a victim. In addition to founding two firearm defense academies and authoring several books and many articles on firearm defense and emergency preparedness, SIG is also a popular speaker and regularly appears on national and international talk shows.
