The study sought to investigate the preparedness of children for transition from Early Childhood Development (ECD) to primary school in Keiyo District. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, four specific research objectives were addressed, that is: to establish ECD situational services provided to children to facilitate smooth transition; to find out the effects of curriculum on preparedness of children for transition from ECDE to primary school; to determine whether the current practices address transition from ECDE to primary school and to examine external environmental factors influencing the smooth transition from ECDE to primary school. The study adopted the descriptive survey research design. The study used questionnaire, interview schedule and observation checklist in data collection. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The study findings revealed that there is a low degree of linkage and interaction between ECD teachers and parents in preparation of children for transition from ECDE to primary school. It was also found out that the ECDE and primary syllabi were not harmonized so as to enhance transition.
