At all stages of the electoral process, the Congolese legislator has provided for prescribed deadlines for action, and failure to comply with these deadlines can have unfortunate consequences for all those involved in the electoral process. The fundamental concern here is to study the different legal deadlines provided for by the Congolese Electoral Code in order to highlight their importance in electoral matters, because it happens that if an act is not accomplished within the time prescribed by the law, it can be rejected as invalid. In addition, this study has allowed us to identify other deficient situations such as: the time limit for the mandate of the new Governors and Vice-Governors elected in the provinces of Kasai-Occidental and Oriental; the suspensive effect of the time limit for organizing an election by a judicial appeal; and the vacancy in the position of Vice-Governor of a province in the event of the death, resignation or permanent impediment of the Governor of the province or of the Governor and his Deputy. All these situations call for intervention by the legislator or the constituent to remedy the shortcomings noted.
