Dick Smakman is Lecturer at Leiden University, The Netherlands, where he teaches courses in Second Language Acquisition and Sociolinguistics. He is the author of Accent Building (2015), Discovering Sociolinguistics (2018), and Clear English Pronunciation (2020). He has taught courses and delivered presentations at various universities, particularly in Europe and Asia.
