Dr. Franco Ricci (O.M.R.I.) is Professor of Italian Studies at the University of Ottawa. An eclectic researcher, his numerous publications cross multiple disciplines that broadly address narratives of human experience. He has garnered much acclaim for his recent book "The Sopranos: Born Under a Bad Sign" and was awarded Honorable Mention for the prestigious Marraro Prize for his book "Painting with Words, Writing with Pictures" by the Modern Language Association of America.He is knight commander (Commendatore) in the Order of Merit of theRepublic of Italy by Presidential decree.When he is not writing or teaching, he spends his time reading, cooking,traveling and photographing the region of Abruzzo . . . his other world.A longtime resident of Ottawa, he is a proud Italian-American with deep Canadian roots.
