The threatening cardiac disorders are not only multifaceted but they are of many kinds. One of them in particular is Coronary heart Disease-CHD. It still stands out as the real killer. Coronary Heart Disease is also the principal cause of fatal disorders and disability in human body. CHD these days is very common disease and it is prevalent in varying degree in men and post menopausal women. The present study is undertaken to find out the prevalence of CHD and coronary risk factors among a random sample of size 326 urban females population of Jaipur using the recently developed criteria of investigation. The study is also aimed at determining the prevalence of various standard and unconventional risk factors of CHD in this urban population. The study is designed to investigate people at random and to cover large and varied areas of Jaipur in the Rajasthan State of India with a view to include persons from all walks of urban life.
