Hookworm is an intestinal parasite most commonly found in tropical and subtropical countries. A.lumbriciodes is a prominent parasite in both temperate and tropical countries zones but it is more common in warm temperate countries and is more prevalent where sanitation is poor. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of Hookworm and Ascaris infection among schoolchildren found in Chafe kotu jabessa primary school. Fresh stool samples were collected from 80 students enrolled in chafe kotu jabessa primary school. The samples were processed using formal-ether concentration methods and then microscopically examined for Hookworm and Ascaris infections. Out of the 80 students surveyed for intestinal parasites 35(43.75%) had been infected. The authors' special word of thanks is to Markos medical university and I would like to acknowledge students and teachers of the study school for their unfailing cooperation during stool sample collection.
