This book develops a project to know the real extent of this problem and its consequences. The universality of the problem and its tendency to increase, as well as the repercussions on the health of women and their offspring, make it a subject of great interest for study, whose conclusions can be useful in clinical practice, being able to modify actions in the prevention and treatment of obesity before and during pregnancy; as well as for research, because there will be gaps in knowledge, and in the teaching field, in the specialties of Obstetrics and Gynecology of nursing and medicine.

Clara Suárez Pérez è ostetrica presso l'Hospital Universitario San Agustín de Avilés. È anche sessuologa del Master dell'Istituto INCISEX e ha conseguito un Master in Assistenza e Ricerca Sanitaria con specializzazione in Ricerca Clinica presso l'Università di La Coruña.
