The etiology of temporomandibular dysfunction is associated with various factors, such as physical alterations, stress, emotional problems, as well as psychosocial and behavioural alterations. Teaching work has some initiating, perpetuating and predisposing factors, such as workload, length of service and socioeconomic aspects. There are gaps in information about the prevalence of TMD in teachers. The aim of this study is to investigate the presence of TMD in this population and verify the association with socio-demographic factors and working conditions, in order to propose effective measures for controlling and treating these alterations.
Autorenporträt
The author has a degree in Dentistry from UEFS-2001, specialised in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology from the Pernambuco School of Dentistry -UPE-2006, a Master's degree in Dentistry from the School of Dentistry -UFBA -2012, and is studying for a PhD in Biotechnology at UEFS -2020. He has experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
