In the Limbe I Municipality, the pollution of rivers and floods are frequent threats. The worst recorded event occurred in June 2001, when floods and landslides took the lives of some 30 persons, left over 2000people homeless, and destroyed property and social amenities including roads and telephone lines worth billions of Francs CFA. The main objective of this research was to make a river contract (action plan)for the prevention of floods and pollution of rivers in the Limbe I Municipality. To meet this objective, the sources of pollution of rivers were identified, the causes of floods, actor analysis for those involved in the management of rivers and their ecosystem in the study area, and lastly a territorial diagnosis using the swot method were done. Pollution of rivers and floods are affecting the whole of the Limbe IMunicipality either directly or indirectly. There is a rapid loss of biodiversity, eutrophication in the rivers, destruction of houses, roads, and crops, businesses get slowed down, human life is lost and animals also get killed, many people get displaced, water-related diseases get diffused more easily.
