The academic training of specialists in medical universities is a substantial component to make the basic principles of Public Health in Cuba a reality, which constitutes a challenge for the staff of these institutions in the direction of this process, in particular, the preparation of General Comprehensive Medicine residents in the educational preventive work with older adults in primary health care, which is the subject of this work. The primary data was obtained through surveys and interviews, which constituted the initial diagnosis of the research. The collected data were processed in computerized form and different methods were used for their collection and processing. Favorable results were found, the specialists (teachers) corroborate that the methodology provided favors the structuring and direction of the teaching-learning process and constitutes a novel tool for the preparation of the residents, in addition, its application in practice is feasible, for the development of modes of action in the educational preventive work with the elderly.
