Given the logistical difficulties of Tunisia's regional health structures, the primary care family physician sometimes encounters problems in the management of musculoskeletal trauma. The role of the primary care physician is decisive in the initial management of traumatological emergencies of the locomotor system. The quality of this management can determine the functional and even vital prognosis. For this reason, the temporary immobilization of a serious trauma of the musculoskeletal system must be mastered by the family doctors of first line, especially those practising in the interior zones of our country. Initial immobilization can be a life-saving procedure in certain situations. Through this book, the authors have tried to simplify the basic notions of the initial management of musculoskeletal injuries while waiting for specialized care in the appropriate trauma centers.
