When Brandon Hale was a young boy, he lived in South America. It was a great place to be a kid, and his mom let him play outside as much as he wanted. He had a dog named Okie, a slingshot, and an awesome treehouse his dad built. The tree was full of pink mangoes, jabbering parrots, and fat iguanas! When he was older, his family moved home to Oklahoma, and he began second grade. His favorite classes were Reading and History. He still got to spend a lot of time outdoors, and sometimes his uncles would take him hunting--with their falcons! His favorite tales were Treasure Island, The Swiss Family Robinson, Old Yeller, and The Hobbit.Brandon went to college and joined the Navy while in law school. He served on active duty and now serves in the reserves, holding the rank of Captain. For his day job, he works in law enforcement. Brandon is married to a lovely lady, and they have five kids and live on the plains of Oklahoma. Regarding Prince Martin, Brandon didn't even know he existed until he popped into his head one day! When he was deployed overseas in 2015, Brandon told his young son Prince Martin stories on the phone. In fact, the boy named some of the most important characters. Now Brandon likes to wake up early (when the house is unusually quiet) and write about Prince Martin. His books in the Prince Martin Epic series are Prince Martin Wins His Sword, Prince Martin and the Thieves, Prince Martin and the Dragons, Prince Martin and the Cave Bear, Prince Martin and the Last Centaur, Prince Martin and the Pirates, and Prince Martin and the Quest for the Bloodstone. Honesty Pays: A Little Prince Martin Picture Book is Brandon's first book for younger readers. Learn more at www.princemartin.com
