The book dealt with the meanings, characteristics, types, functions and importance of principles, law, sources of law, the principles of law, and the merits and demerits of the principles of law. The sources of law which include the Constitutions, Statutes, Case Law (Common Law), Regulations, and International Treaties are discussed. The Fundamental and Specific Principles of Law include: The Rule of Law, Separation of Powers, Presumption of Innocence, Non-Discrimination, and Due Process amongst others are elaborated.The author opined that: The fundamental and specific principles of law must be observed and adhered to in all Nations, States and Communities; Laws must be applied equally and fairly to all individuals; There must be division of legislative, executive and judicial authority; There must be assumption of an accused's innocence until proven guilty; Discrimination based on race, gender, religion, tribe, etc. must be prohibited in all quarters; There must be fair treatment, procedural rights and protection of all citizens and denizens under the law. Finally, fairness and impartiality should be the watch-word of all.
