The infrastructure plays important role in economic activity. Infrastructure differs in terms of its purpose of delivering certain set of services to different groups. Traditionally, public infrastructure is procured by the government. This study intends to present Private Finance Initiative (PFI) as an alternative approach of obtaining the public infrastructure and services related to it. The central question of the study is what the impact of PFI in procurement of public infrastructure is. The study will discuss basic features of PFI, present the case of practical application and assess potential benefits and problems of PFI and examine applicability in the context of emerging economies.The study should be especially useful to professionals in Finance and Management fields or anyone else interested in project finance, private public partnerships and development of public infrastructure
