This book treats Bash as a full programming language, not only as a macro expansion or scripting tool. It will expose all comers to the full force of Bash, taking it to the limit of its capabilities. Many programmers need to know why and when they need to use Bash, over, say Ruby or Perl. This book will tell them.
There are millions of Linux servers and OS X users. For all of them Bash is the default scripting language, yet there is not a single full account of Bash as a programming language. This book is where you can find it.
