KogWis 2005 will be held in Basel, Switzerland, September 7-9, 2005. The Program Chairs are Prof. Klaus Opwis and Dr. Iris-Katharina Penner, Department of Psychology, University of Basel.
Cognitive science pursues a scientific understanding of the mind through all available methodologies, notably those of artificial intelligence, computer science, linguistics, logic, neuroscience, philosophy and psychology, in whatever combinations is most appropriate to the topic at hand. The aim of the 7th Cognitive Science Conference will be to represent the whole spectrum of this research in the cognitive sciences in ways which will lead to useful mutual interactions.
This year's scientific program reflects the emerging variety in the field of cognitive science. Traditional topics in cognitive research are on the one hand linked to modern cognitive neuroscience by applying brain imaging methods and on the other hand sophisticated model approaches. Reading the abstracts it became apparent that this year topics like language, problem solving, attention, memory and vision are of main interest to the researchers attending the meeting.
