Dr. Nawawi Chouw is Associate Professor and was Director of the University of Auckland Centre for Earthquake Engineering Research. Prior to joining the University of Auckland, he worked at universities in Germany, Japan, and Australia. He has been awarded several prizes, including Fritz-Peter-Mueller Prize of the Technical University of Karlsruhe, Germany and the Best Research Award of Chugoku Denryoku Research Foundation, Japan. He was invited to teach at several universities in many countries. He was Guest Editor of several journals, e.g., Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering. He is Editor of Materials, Shock and Vibration and Frontiers in Build Environment. He was Guest Professor at several universities in China, Germany, Canada, Australia, and Japan. Dr. Chunwei Zhang is Professor and Du Xing Endowed Scholar at the South China University of Technology in Guangzhou, China. He has held various honorary positions, including Adjunct Professor at Queensland University of Technology, Shenyang Jianzhu University, and Shenyang University of Technology. His research interests include structural vibration control, health monitoring, protective structures, influence of impact and blast loads, offshore structures, and smart materials. He has published over 200 Scopus-indexed papers and received over 100 patents in China, USA, Europe, Japan, Korea, Canada, Australia, Russia, India, South Africa, and Brazil. He has received several prestigious awards, e.g., from the State Council of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Education of China, and the Japan Society of Seismic Isolation. He is among Clarivate's most cited researchers in 2022.
