Autorenporträt
Dr. Phung is currently the president of Vietnam Society for Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering (VSSMGE), and active in several ISSMGE technical committees. He has over 40 years of international experience. His expertise areas are: deep foundations and piled raft foundations for high-rise buildings, temporary and permanent support for deep excavations, soil improvement, underpinning, pile dynamics, cut & cover tunneling, and numerical analysis of soil-structure interaction problems. He has worked with projects in many countries, among other, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, USA, England, Russia, Germany, India, Hong Kong, China, South East Asia and Vietnam. Dr. Nguyen is currently a lecturer in Civil Engineering program, Faculty of Advanced Technology and Engineering, VNU Vietnam Japan University, Hanoi. He has over 15 years of teaching and research experience at different universities in South Korea and Vietnam. Besides teaching, he is also actively involved in research and industrial projects of FECON Corporation. He is presently a member of TC102 of the ISSMGE. Dr. Nguyen's research focusses on deformation behavior of geomaterials, bearing capacity of shallow and deep foundations, and ground improvement methods. He has published more than fifty technical papers in the field of geotechnical engineering.
