Autorenporträt
J. N. Reddy is the O'Donnell Foundation Chair IV Professor in J. Mike Walker '66 Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A\&M University,  a highly-cited researcher and a leader in the applied mechanics field for more than 50 years. He is well-known worldwide for his significant contributions to the field of applied and computational mechanics through the authorship of widely used textbooks. His pioneering works on the development of shear deformation theories of beams, plates, and shells (that bear his name in the literature as the Reddy third-order plate theory and the Reddy layerwise theory),  nonlocal and non-classical continuum mechanics have had a major impact, and have led to new research developments and applications. Recent honors and awards include: 2023 Leonardo da Vinci Award from the European Academy of Sciences,  2023 Michael P. Pa\"idoussis Medal from the Royal Society of Canada, 2022 IACM Congress (Gauss-Newton) Medal from the International Association of Computational Mechanics, 2019 Timoshenko Medal from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, 2018 Theodore von K\'arm\'an Medal from the  American Society of Civil Engineers, 2017 John von Neumann Medal from the U.S. Association of Computational Mechanics, 2016 Prager Medal from the Society of Engineering Science,  and  2016 ASME Medal from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering and foreign fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Brazilian National Academy of Engineering,  the Indian National Academy of Engineering, the Royal Academy of Engineering of Spain,  the European Academy of Sciences (Honorary Member), and the Academia Scientiarum et Artium Europaea (the European Academy of Sciences and Arts). Prof. C. M. Wang is Professor of Structural Engineering at the School of Civil Engineering, The University of Queensland, Australia. He is Chartered Structural Engineer, Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore, Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Singapore, and Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers. His research focuses on structural stability, vibration, optimization, and very large floating structures, and he has published over 490 journal papers and 10 books in these areas. He is Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics and an editorial board member of several journals, including Engineering Structures, International Journal of Applied Mechanics, Shock and Vibration, and Structures. His numerous awards include the 2019 Nishino Medal, 2019 JN Reddy Medal, 2014 Keith Eaton Award, and 2009 Lewis Kent Award. Dr. Van Hai Luong is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology(HCMUT), Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), Vietnam. He holds a master's in civil engineering from the University of Liège, Belgium, and Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore. His research interests are in the areas of structural stability, vibration, optimization, plates and shells, and computational mechanics. He has published many scientific papers and is Author of the books: "Dynamics of Structures" published in 2010 and "Moving Element Method" published in 2020 (in Vietnamese). He has won many awards that include the First Prize of the 3rd Youth Conference of Scientific Researches of HCMUT, the 4th Eureka Scientific Awards, the National Scientific Researches Awards, and the Prize of Strength of Materials in the National Olympic Competition. Dr. Anh Tuan Le is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), Vietnam. He holds a master's in civil engineering from HCMUT, and Ph.D. from the Yeungnam University, Korea. His research interests include building materials, geopolymer material, and high-performance concrete.
