This book focuses on the manufacture of high-performance abrasives. However, the disadvantage of these fibers is their poor adhesion to most polymers. Produktbeschreibung
This book focuses on the manufacture of high-performance abrasives. However, the disadvantage of these fibers is their poor adhesion to most polymers. Fiber modification is used to improve surface functionality and wettability. The manufacture of abrasives is maintained by two processes (spraying and coating). For this study, a cellulose nonwoven as reinforcement, three types of matrix (polyurethane, acrylic and polyester), and abrasive grains were exploited. This exploratory work is divided into several parts concerning abrasive wear, roughness evaluation, grain size and choice. Several techniques were used: EDX, SEM, FTIR, ATG, electrophoresis, in addition to the determination of some mechanical properties and the characterization of adhesion. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to correctly evaluate the characteristics developed and optimize the best product conditions. The results obtained show an improvement in adhesion. The application of these abrasive nonwovens in denimlaundering gives good results.
